Prof. Matthew Weber presented a paper titled “From Big Data to Big Theory: Lessons Learned from Archival Internet Research” as part of a panel at the Annual Meeting of the American Historical Association, Atlanta, Ga., Jan. 7 –10. The findings from this research are based on archival web data that tracks organizations emerging during the growth of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and the interplay between traditional news organizations and digital online-only providers.
