Here are just a few of the activities and accomplishments by Social Media and Society Cluster Faculty during late Spring/Summer 2017:
- Prof. Marya Doerfel was promoted to Full Professor
- Profs. Rebecca Reynolds and Matthew Weber were promoted to Associate Professor with tenure
- Prof. Mary Chayko was named Faculty Fellow in Residence at the Rutgers University Honors College
- Prof. Chirag Shah was awarded a $500,000 NSF grant to develop a web browsing system he calls “Information Fostering,” and published the book “Social Information Seeking: Leveraging the Wisdom of the Crowd”
- In May, Prof. Regina Marchi led a group of twelve undergraduate Journalism and Media Studies students to Guatemala to study Media and Struggles for Democracy in Central America
